ABOUT KA MEDICAL

KA Medical was founded in 2014 by Dr. Kurt Amplatz to continue his legacy of developing devices to advance patient treatments in the areas of interventional radiology and cardiology. KA Medical is a privately held device company whose first product is a family of micro plugs to address selective and super selective embolization procedures in the peripheral vasculature. The company is based in Roseville, Minnesota.

Kurt Amplatz, M.D.

Dr. Amplatz has been an inventor of medical devices for most of his life. He retired from the University of Minnesota in 1999 to devote his full time and energy to developing new products based on technologies he invented.

Dr. Amplatz is one of the great pioneers of the medical device industry encompassing more than half a century of researching and developing life-saving medical devices in the areas of interventional cardiology and radiology.
